Last year, he was a little agitated during our session. He was far more content to play on his portable video game than to engage with me, the oddball stranger with the large black contraption attached to her face. Even though his smile was elusive, his love and connection to his family was evident and that is what I caught.

As with any client, I am thrilled when they call me again. But it is an extra special privilege and honor to work with kids like this. To have parents trust me and welcome me in to their circle is just beyond words. When I arrived for this year’s session, I immediately saw smiles, laughter and even got a high five. Just melt my heart.
