Hello Friends!
In the past month or so, I have had requests for “special needs friendly photographers” from families around the country. I know there are photographers out there who have the talent, and the heart for creating beautiful images of these sweet families. I need to know who you are and where you are.
If you are one of these photographers, PLEASE contact me so I can compile a directory for the families who are looking for YOU!
Please click here to fill out the Photographer Directory Questionnaire . Be sure to hit submit after you have verified your answers!

Thank you SO MUCH and I look forward to hearing from you!

roseanne madrid - I just started up my photography business back up. After several years of photographing off road/ drag races. I am blessed to now photograph families, weddings and school sports. I have a soft spot for children of special needs, as they are truly the most honest, and fun loving people around.
Meghan Stewart - The Magpie Project
Named for my daughter Maggie who has special needs. My business grew out of my own desire to capture pictures of my daughter, the way I see her – happy, compfortable, funny and in a setting that she enjoys. Having portraits taken when she was little was sometimes a stressful experience – sterile settings, ill-at-ease photographers etc… I finally found someone who was GREAT with Maggie, met us at a location of our choosing and got terrific images. Years of training later, I hope to offer that same gift to other Moms and Dads – great pictures of their kids. I like to tell parents that nothing will really phase me (I say this because of my “typically developing” 3 year old son more than my 12 year old daugther with Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome!) I have a soft spot for siblings and really try to capture the love & humor between brothers & sisters as well.
I prefer shooting outdoors in natural light but am flexible. I live in the St. Louis metropolitan area and will travel up to a 30 mile radius. I am also an MSW and have an interest in volunteering my services for local agencies that support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Additionally, I have a somewhat neglected blog themagpieproject.com if you’d like to read a little more of our story.
Tracy - Hi Marsha,
I’m not a photographer, but rather one of those families who will be looking for one of these wonderful photographers! I have 3 children, 1 with special needs. We live in the Seattle area, and I’ll be looking forward to hopefully finding some wonderful photographers in our area! Thank you so much for taking on this task!
