Here is another family who I have known since we moved back to California (yes, there seems to be a theme with my clients this year). So yes, here comes another memory lane story.
One year, Lucas was in my son Liam’s preschool class and they were buds. Later, Rylan was in my daughter Addison’s preschool class. And Jen spent many hours at the preschool painting with my daughter and labeling all of her funny portraits (Addie and her brothers, Addie and her cat, etc). This is the only way Addie would even speak to her and Jen was always happy to report when my shy Addie decided to speak to her. I think she secretly counted the victories. We still have those paintings.
Jen is also an avid photography hobbiest so we can always talk shop! Sadly she shoots Nikon so I have to give her a bit of grief about that, but I love how she gets that camera out and documents life for her kids.
When she booked this session, she wanted to update photos of her family because it had been long enough. She also told me that her mother would be joining them. EVERYONE needs a photo with their mom. No matter how young or old, just DO IT. What impressed me most was that they both wanted it for the “you just never know” reason. Most people know this is the reason that they photograph their loved ones, but for a client to be forthcoming and actually voice this reason with a confident smile was so amazing. Cherish it while you have it and remember each other forever. This is exactly what this mother and daughter are doing.
Ok, enough of the random thoughts on the session. Now it’s time to peak at their photos. Location: downtown Riverside.
